I started my journey in door-to-door sales back in 2006 at Firstline Security. At the time, I was the class clown in school, drifting down the wrong path, and honestly not sure where I fit in this world. That first summer on the doors changed everything for me. I discovered I had a gift for connecting with people, and I realized that success could come from simply being myself, working hard, and staying consistent.

Over the years, I built and led teams across the country, first in the home security industry, then in solar, and now in fiber optics. Along the way, I learned that the door-to-door industry is more than just sales—it’s a path to personal growth, leadership, and opportunity. It doesn’t require a degree or a corporate title; it rewards grit, determination, and the willingness to keep pushing forward.

In March 2025, I co-founded TNT Fiber with my partner, Tom Key. Our mission is to create a place where sales reps can thrive, not just financially but personally. We believe in providing an environment where people can grow, develop leadership skills, and discover that there is more than one way to build a successful life outside of college or corporate America.

When I’m not working, I enjoy reading, traveling, snowboarding, eating good food, and most importantly, spending time with my wife and kids. I’m passionate about continuous learning and self-improvement, and I believe that every challenge in life is an opportunity to grow stronger.

What I’ve come to love about the door-to-door industry is that it’s open to anyone—no matter your background, mistakes, or past. If you’re willing to put in the effort, stay positive, and believe in yourself, this industry can completely change the direction of your life. And to the young people who might feel lost, overlooked, or unsure where they belong: I want you to know you do have a place in this world. There are paths to success outside of college or corporate America. If you’re willing to work hard, stay resilient, and believe in yourself, doors will open for you—literally and figuratively.

I’m Tom Key, COO of TNT Fiber. I started TNT Fiber with my business partner Trevor after 10 years in the door-to-door sales industry — I’ve done everything from political canvassing to solar and even water filtration. When I found fiber internet, I found my home.

I’ve never had the opportunity to sell a product that is such a no-brainer for people and helps better the communities that we operate in. It’s both a blessing and a privilege to offer something that helps people save money and also gets them the best product on the market. There is nothing comparable to it.

My passion is helping others actualize their true potential. The beauty of the door-to-door sales industry is that anyone can do it. It offers the opportunity to create financial freedom for those without a college degree or any prior knowledge or experience. All it truly takes is hard work and perseverance. Working in this industry has made me a better human being.

I truly love to help people, and I get the opportunity every day to not only help our customers but to help everyone on our team become the best version of themselves.
